1966

Born in Münster, he lives in Munich as a composer, conductor, and pianist. He studied composition at the Detmold University of Music with Prof. Jürgen Ulrich, with piano as his main instrument.

During his studies, he spent two extended stays in Israel as a volunteer in a kibbutz Ma’agan , then the beginning of the opera תרנכ ( Kinneret ) – Scenes from the shores of the Sea of Galilee after an original libretto.

1991

Mozart Composition Prize ’91 for the chamber music work Soundscape . Major in conducting with Prof. Karl-Heinz Bloemeke .

1992

Invitation as a composer to the International Chain Festival, Holland with the trombone quartet Courtyard Music .

1993

Completion of תרנכ as a piano reduction; participation in the German University Forum of Young Composers with the string trio Perfect Night .

1994

World premiere of Piano Concerto and renewed invitation to the International Chain Festival, Holland with Let’s look at it this way based on my own text for voice and ensemble.

1996

Premiere of the Laudate Dominum in St. Marien, Lemgo; subsequently, a commissioned composition, Requiem, for soloists, narrator, children’s choir, choir, and orchestra. The beginning of Casanova – or: Mature Singing, based on a libretto by Dr. Mathias Beilein .

1997

World premiere of Pater Noster in the Prague Philharmonic Hall.

Piano solo program with exclusively his own works in Bielefeld.

Completion of the Symphony “The Six Fundamental Emotions” .

Composition of the Concerto for basset clarinet and orchestra .

Once again musical director of the Trinational Music and Theatre Days with a revival of Happy New Year ; subsequently invited to the “ Fête des Nations ” in Lyon, France.

2nd prize at the Vienna String Quartet Composition Competition for Slow Air for Lost Lovers .

2001

Wedding with Alexandra Vogt ( dedicatee of Slow Air ), performance of Refugee Song based on a text by Hilde Marx at the State Theatre in Oldenburg.

Again musical director of the Trinational Music and Theatre Festival; composition and rehearsal of the stage music Seven Colours .

2002

Haarmann, a German Singspiel about the legendary mass murderer Fritz Haarmann and the horrific events of the years 1918–1925 based on a libretto by Georg Büttel.

Days of Contemporary Music at the Interim, Munich; performance of

Courtyard Music in the version for strings.

2002 Cultural Prize Winner of the Erding District with the St. Wolfgang Music Association

2003

Piano Solo II program with own works in Bielefeld.

In June the Haarmann score was completed.

Beginning of intensive collaboration with Gerd Scherm, based on his poems, the song cycle Mondspuren for mezzo-soprano, clarinet, cello and piano.

Notturni – Piano and poetry for the night at the Kulturforum Fürth, also with Gerd Scherm.

Composition of the incidental music for A Fräulein is sold by Ödön von Hórvath on the occasion of the world premiere of the fragment at the international Hórvath Days in Murnau.

World premiere of the incidental music for Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind at the Schlosstheater Celle.

Musical director of the first opera production at the Schlosstheater Celle: 28 performances of The Abduction from the Seraglio by Wolfgang Amadé Mozart in a chamber music arrangement by Holzkamp open air in the castle courtyard.

Another trip to Finland. Premiere of Aurora Borealis – Revontulet with the Tuusulanjärvi String Ensemble under the direction of the composer.
